From orange oak to fresh white cabinets, we are so happy with how our white and grey kitchen turned out. Here are the before pictures of our very orange kitchen:
You can pretty solidly get the feel of ORANGE in this room. I would walk into our kitchen and would dread seeing this dark space.
I am thankful for a husband that is in the custom cabinetry business because he facilitated every single part of our remodel! His guys refinished the cabinets & doors, added crown molding at the top of the cabinets & at the base of the cabinets, built out a cabinet to enclose our microwave and trim kit, painted and added wood paneling & crown base boards around the island. If you’re refinishing your cabinets or need new cabinets in Arizona, Chris’s Custom Cabinets are the best! If you need granite, quartz, tile, etc. they have the best vendors to refer you to. [End spouse endorsement here 🙂 ]
We chose grey & white quartz counter tops and a raised, beveled white subway tile for our back splash, and it seriously sparkles when you enter the room.
Here are our after pictures!
A huge difference between the before and after photos is the lighting! We removed the old canned lighting which made our kitchen HOT (not needed in Arizona) and replaced with LED Recessed Lighting and hired a electrician to change them out, & to drill holes in our ceiling & do the wiring for the stunning industrial-style Blown Glass lighting over the island (we added these energy efficient Edison bulbs).
Replacing the canned lighting with the LED made our entire kitchen feel brand new, so of course, we changed it throughout the rest of the house. Our home feels much cooler & the lighting is much more pleasant than ugly yellow toned lighting.
Last but not least, my absolute favorite retro Kikkerland kitchen timer!
